If I’m craving something sweet, I usually resort to CHOCOLATE. Obvious answer, right? Lately, though, I haven’t been able to get enough fruit. I’ve put berries in all the things, which is totally unlike me. Must be the summer-like weather faking me out! I’m definitely not complaining because these blueberry muffins totally hit the spot and dare I say they even rival my favorite chocolate chip muffin? So tasty and you can’t even tell they’re grain free or refined sugar free.
What would St. Patricks Day be without an indulgent shamrock shake?! I know I’ve been guilty many years in a row for stopping by the McDonalds drive through to treat myself to their shamrock shakes on that special day, but after some research on what’s actually contained in their shakes, I’m steering clear of them for good! Obviously it’s not the end of the world if you indulge in a McDonalds shake once a year, but after finding out that there are 54 total ingredients in something as simple as a shake, I’ve taken it upon myself to create a healthier version of this beloved, festive treat.
The fact that I’ve only made s’mores once this summer makes me sad. I feel like I’ve insulted summer by not taking part in the weekly bonfire and s’mores tradition. But to be completely honest, I’m more of a toast the mallow and forget the other stuff kind of gal. (Until I had s’mores with a peanut butter cup instead of regular chocolate…game changer) I am perfectly content with letting my marshmallow catch on fire, and eating it directly after without graham crackers or chocolate. Its probably because I’m impatient and lazy. Okay, it’s definitely because I’m impatient and lazy. Speaking of being lazy, did you know you can toast marshmallows in the oven?
